LIVELIHOODS / NUTRITION
⚠️ The Challenge
Madhesh Province has the lowest Human Development Index in Nepal. Rural and marginalised communities face deep-rooted poverty, food insecurity, and limited livelihood opportunities. Women, landless families, Dalits, and indigenous groups are particularly at risk.
Undernutrition among women and children remains widespread, driven by poor dietary diversity, limited maternal education, inadequate healthcare access, and harmful traditional practices.
🌱 Our Solution
BWSN works at the grassroots level to break cycles of poverty and malnutrition through integrated, community-driven approaches. We combine climate-smart agriculture, skill-based livelihoods, and enterprise development with targeted nutrition interventions.
Our approach strengthens food security, promotes healthy diets, and empowers women and marginalized communities to build sustainable futures.
